Pay-per-use swimming pools in Singapore
The weather these days is sweltering more often than not. And during the times when the sun is high up in the sky, and there are no clouds or even a breeze, all we want to do is jump into a swimming pool. But if you don’t live in a condo with that amenity, you’re likely considering braving the crowds at ActiveSG pools.
Turns out, there are more swimming spots in Singapore for those who want to get those laps in, or simply take a refreshing dip to escape the heat. We’ve rounded up some pay-per-use swimming pools in Singapore to check out.

1. HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir – Scenic infinity pool
HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir’s clubhouse may include an AR arena, gym, and waterpark, but its outdoor swimming pool is what takes the cake. This 50m infinity pool looks out to a panoramic view of Bedok Reservoir. It also has 6 lanes, which is great for those practising for a marathon or triathlon.
All HomeTeamNS members get free access. However, members of the public can also swim in this picturesque spot from $3.33 from Monday-Friday.
If the East is too far for you, HomeTeamNS also has pools at 3 of their other clubhouses: Balestier, Bukit Batok, and Khatib. Similar to the one at Bedok Reservoir, the pools are only open to the public on weekdays.

2. OCBC Aquatic Centre – Not just for Team Singapore athletes
Swimmers looking to set a new personal best can make use of the 18 lanes at the OCBC Aquatic Centre. Better yet, it’s indoors and sheltered from the elements, so don’t worry about your plans getting rained on.
Besides the pay-per-entry rates, those who need more swim practice can purchase a 30-day swim pass from $40.30 or the 8-visit swim pass from $17.60. The latter gives you 2 free visits, so that’s essentially $1.76/visit.

To make working out more fun, sign up for any of the aqua fitness classes, each with different levels of intensity. Grab a pool noodle and work on your flexibility and conditioning in Aqua Fit Deepwater ($160 for 8 sessions), or stick to the shallower 1.35m end with Aqua Gold ($160 for 8 sessions). The latter is a less intense group workout that focuses on your stamina and balance.
For the pool schedule, check out Singapore Sports Hub’s website.

3. Safra Choa Chu Kang – Sheltered pool with glass edge
Image credit: Safra Choa Chu Kang
SAFRA Choa Chu Kang’s swimming pool is open-air but sheltered, so you can go for a rejuvenating swim surrounded by nature even when it’s pouring. But that’s not all, this 6-lane lap pool has a see-through glass edge, making it a photogenic spot for those looking to snap a few pics.
If you were hoping to get a whole-body workout, head to the gym on level 3. There’s also a Climb Central outlet with over 40 climbing lanes for a different kind of arm day.

4. SP Graduates’ Guild – Has sauna, steam room & gym for $8/guest
Image credit: Mind TransformationsThe SP Graduates Guild is a lesser-known recreational clubhouse, even amongst Singapore Polytechnic alumni. Stepping in, you definitely won’t miss a large free form swimming pool in the middle of the clubhouse.
Image credit: SIA Group Sports Club
Access is limited to SPGG members, but if you know someone who’s one, it’s time to hit them up. Every SPGG member can bring up to 4 guests to the pool, the gym, and the wellness centre – which comes complete with a jacuzzi, hot and cold pools, steam room, and sauna.
The one-time fee for membership here costs $1,188, which you have to pay in addition to the monthly $45 subscription fee. However, here’s a pretty cool lobang – SP fresh graduates can sign up with just a $129 one-time fee – with your monthly subscription waived for the first 3 years upon graduation.

Just a 5-minute walk from Buona Vista MRT lies NTU@one-north, which houses the NTU Alumni Club. The pool facilities are managed by The Swim Lab, a swimming school for kids founded by a team of ex national swimmers.
